I believe in the ability of dance to sharpen our attention and change our perception. For me, it is a purely physical experience. When I see dance that touches me deeply, I feel stronger, more alive. It is in the moment, when movement and meaning coincide, that perspectives suddenly change and something unexpected happens. It makes me proud and happy to see an audience become deeply engaged. When they are so immersed in the performance that they lean forward and breathe to the rhythm of the dancers.

Good art is honest. It is not just about technical skill but about what the movement tells us. Dance expresses what words cannot capture and can take us to places where thought and feeling have room to play. Contemporary dance is a constantly evolving artform – a place for the unexpected, where boundaries are tested and the body’s expression becomes its own language. It can be both precise and unpredictable, vulnerable and powerful, intuitive and analytical. But above all, it creates an immediacy that cannot be replaced by anything else.
I am driven by seeking the new, by challenging perceptions of what dance can be. Contemporary dance has a rebellious soul. It challenges the body and opens up for limitless creativity. Art will outlive us all, but its value lies in what it does to us here and now. A performance ends – its impact can live on and change the way we see ourselves, eachother and the world.
This is what you can experience here during season 2025/2026 – a season filled with a belief in the power of our collective voices and actions.
