Malte Luebben studied fine arts at the Akademie voor beeldende Kunst in Enschede, Netherlands and at the Accademia di belle Arti in Firenze, Italy. Since 2006 he has been working as a stage- and costume designer for drama, opera and dance production at various theaters in Europe. He designed the costumes for example at the Teatro alla Scala di Milano 2019 for Mozart, Idomeneo; at the Grand Thèâtre de Genève 2018 for the original version of Moussorgski, Boris Godunov; with Salzburger Landestheater and Servus TV/NDR 2017 for Schiller, Die Räuber; at Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus 2018 for Kleist, Michael Kohlhaas.
2022 Malte Luebben designs the costumes for Pique Dame at Teatro alla Scala in Italy, directed by Matthias Hartmann and for the dance production Aeon at Nationaltheater Mannheim with choreographers Paul Blackman and Christine Gouzelis.
