The companies which cooperated to lay the groundwork for this opera house knew that culture plays a vital role in establishing a city and region which can attract competent workers, students, artistic talents, and entrepreneurs – and to preserve them as life-long residents.
We have an exciting future ahead of us now as Gothenburg has a goal to become a city of 1 million inhabitants. The Göteborg Opera has an important role to play in this goal. We are incredibly thrilled and proud to be part of the journey towards a sustainable, vibrant region – together with the private sector.
My hope is that the Göteborg Opera and the private sector can draw both inspiration and value from one another, that we can feel proud of our collaboration – and that we can grow and create success together.
