Anders J Dahlin

Anders J. Dahlin, tenor from Leksand, has established himself as one of the foremost singers of his generation and is a sought-after guest at opera stages and major festivals around the world. He studied at the Conservatory of Music in Falun and the soloist class at the Danish Conservatory of Music with Professor Kirsten Buhl Mölle.

Anders had his Swedish breakthrough in the title role in Rameau's Zoroastre at Drottningholm Theater in 2005–2006, but in his international career has already played major roles in opera literature. Early French Baroque has become his signature, where he is a sought-after soloist and a world leader in his vocal field. Already debuted in 1998 in Bibalo's The Glass Menagerie at the Norwegian Opera he got great reviews from the international press. Roles include Jason in Charpentier's Médée at the Theater de Champs Elysées, Carlos, Damon, Tacmas & Valère in Rameau's Le Indes Galantes at the Opera in Bordeaux, Ottone in Monteverdi's Poppea's Coronation at the Maggio musicale in Florence 2013, Belmonte in Mozart's Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Ferrando in Cosí fan tutte with Orchestra of the 18th century, Atis in Rameau's Les Paladins with Les Arts Florissants, the title role in Rameau's opera Platée at the opera in Kiel and Nutrice, Famigliari 1 in Poppea's Coronation in Toulouse and Adraste in Marais’ Sémélé at the Opera in Montpellier with Le Concert Spirituel. Furthermore the title role in Mozart's La clemenza di Tito in an award-winning production in Holland in 2017 with the Orchestra of the 18th century and the title role in Gluck's Orphée et Euridice at the Dijon Opera in 2017. At Drottningholm's Castle Theater he sang the title role in Rameau's opera Pygmalion in 2018. In 2019, he made Wagner debut in the role of Mime in Das Rheingold staged in Vattnäs Concert Barn.

Dahlin works regularly with conductors Emmanuelle Haïm, Christophe Rousset, John Eliot Gardiner, Hervé Niquet, Mark Minkowski, William Christie, Andreas Spering and Leonardo Garcia Alarcón. Anders is the recipient of the Jussi Björling scholarship in 2014.

Between 2019 and 2023 Anders was responsible for the Confidencen Opera & Music Festival Academy.
