The Swiss conductor Jonas Bürgin (b. 1996) is a scholarship holder of the Norwegian ‘Dirigentforum’ and the German ‘Forum Dirigieren’. 2021-2022 he was one of two mentored conductors by the Peter Eötvös Foundation. Bürgin is the winner of the Norwegian ‘opptakt-Competition 2021’ and was awarded the Neeme Järvi Prize 2019 at the Gstaad Menuhin Festival. He is the chief conductor of the resonart camerata and has been working with orchestras as Orchestra Svizzera Italiana, Orchestre de Picardie, Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, Central Swiss Youth Symphony Orchestra etc. In 2023 he will have debuts with the Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie, Loh Orchester Sondershausen, Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, Danubia Orchestra, Norwegian Radio Orchestra etc. His concerts have been recorded by the Swiss Radio or the NDR. Furthermore, he has been assisting Edward Gardner with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and received important inputs from Bernard Haitink, Manfred Honeck and Paavo Järvi. Currently, he is studying conducting at the Norwegian Music Academy.
