Front Row is a series of entertaining musical performances – presented in a smaller, more intimate format. You’ll experience everything from musical numbers to folk songs to eight-handed piano pieces.
Get up right up close to the music and to the performers. These carefully selected pieces are performed in a small format, the music can really come alive for you, because even the deepest emotions can be found in the smallest things.
Front Row will be streamed live from the Göteborg Opera on the following Thursday evenings at 7:00pm.
Karin Boye and Barbro Hörberg. Two much-loved authors wrote poems exploring life, each in her own distinct style, with longing and melancholy as central themes. Their creativity wasn’t only expressed through timeless words, but also in Karin Boye’s curiosity about life and Barbro Hörberg’s famous sense of humour.

Spring has sprung and little green shoots are starting to appear. Your joie de vivre will bloom in this concert performed by our percussionists, where there will be music inspired by waterfalls in Västanå, snowfalls in Michigan, all blended together with smooth Nordic tones.

This week, Henning Ruhe, Artistic Director Opera/Drama, Anders Ottosson, Assisting Director Opera/Drama, alongside Karin Holm and Joakim Kallhed, two of our pianists, excel in an eight-handed piano concerto. Among other things, they invite you to the overtures to Mozart's beloved operas Die Zauberflöte and Le nozze di Figaro – in a way you have never heard before.
