Join us behind the scenes! Why are there TV-screens on the balconies? What happens during a blackout? Is it possible for a singer without a microphone to be heard over a full orchestra? Discover the answers to all this and more on a guided tour through the house, which will take you behind the scenes and through the auditorium.

Eavesdrop as singers and orchestra rehearse the opera The Bartered Bride together for the first time om the Main Stage. The composer is Smetana, who lived in Gothenburg for five years, and who has imbued this comic opera with irresistible charm. It offers romantic arias, lively choruses and Czech folk music. The Bartered Bride will see its premiere later this fall in a staging by director Mellika Melouani Melani, who dusts off this Czech national-romantic opera and imbues it with punky love, strong desires and violent rebellion against traditional norms.
