Mahler’s Symphony No. 2, also known as the ‘Resurrection’ symphony, is a magnificent masterpiece that evokes the battle between the life and death and aims to answer our universal questions. It embodies suffering and loss, nostalgia and amorous longing. This impressive symphony, inspired by Beethoven’s ninth, ends with a 35-minute finale for solo singers, choir and orchestra.
The Göteborg Opera Youth Choruses will perform in Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 in C minor alongside the choirs Härlanda Voces, Göteborgs Gosskör, Gustavi Ungdomskör, members of Göteborgs ungdomskör and Vägus (Västra Götalands Ungdomssymfoniker).
The premiere of the concert will take place at Vara Concert Hall on 2 October 2022, followed by performances at Skara Cathedral on 4 October and Gothenburg Concert Hall on 5 October.
