The Göteborg Opera’s Skapa Days (Create Days) are a great opportunity for those with an enquiring mind to find out more about singing, music, dance, visual art, theatre and other art forms.

Skapa Days are held three times per season. They include something for all ages and always place emphasis on participation and experience.

Each round of Skapa Days has its own specific performances. Performances during the 2022/2023 season include Bleka höga höst with the Göteborg Opera Community Choir (part of the autumn Skapa Days) and Open House (part of the spring Skapa Days).

Spring Skapadagar, 11–16 April (Easter holidays)

A day for young people: Try out opera
11 April 11am – 3pm, Small Stage

Curious about opera? Wonder if opera can be fun? Anyone between 13 and 25 are welcome to an inspiring day together with other young people. No previous experience with opera is necessary!

The day will begin with a Q & A with a singer who is performing as one of the main roles in the opera Die schweigsame Frau, where we'll talk about what opera really means. After a lunch break, you can try out som opera yourselves: we’ll try singing, voice technique and acting, and we’ll also create a short operascene together.

Participants in this activity will get the chance to attend a performance of the comic opera Die schweigsame Frau on 1 April.

The day’s activities will be led by Wolfgang Veith (Head of Operations for Göteborgs Opera’s Skapa-department) and David Oest (theatre pedagogue) together with the Göteborg Opera’s Young Ambassadors – a group of young people who are passionate about the performing arts.

How to apply

Send and email to wolfgang.veith@opera.se, and write your name, age, and if you would like to see Die schweigsame Frau or not (limited seats available). Apply by 6 April (28 March if you would also like to see Die schweigsame Frau on 1 April).
