Hofesh Shechter is one of the world’s most celebrated choreographers – both impossible to predict and with an unmistakeable style: physically explosive, tender and vibrant.
Shechter’s first work for GöteborgsOperans Danskompani, Contemporary Dance, which premiered in 2019, fills the stage with an intense club atmosphere and ironic winks to popular culture. The perfect upload for the dance company's double world premiere in fall: In a Heartbeat with a new creation by Hofesh Shechter. The piece Contemporary Dance runs for 47 minutes.

The evening begins with The Bus Will Arrive in 10 Minutes, a dance experience which will start off outside the main entrance and move through the foyer. Choose your point of view and change it when you want, as unexpected narratives and interactions are improvised by the dancers in real-time. The choreographer behind the concept is Tali Zavilevich, who is making her Swedish debut.
